Groove count is one selection field
SPA pulleys are available in single and multi-groove arrangements. Groove count identifies belt quantity and affects face width, but it does not independently determine the pulley diameter, shaft bore or drive rating.
One groove
Single-groove arrangements are straightforward to identify, but the belt section and pulley diameter still matter. Confirm whether the mounting is taper-bushed or direct-bore.
Two and three grooves
As belt count increases, belt-set condition, alignment and installation space become more important. Replace multi-belt sets according to the belt manufacturer’s guidance rather than mixing unrelated belts.
Four to six grooves
Higher groove counts create a wider pulley package. Check the shaft length, hub position, guard envelope and service access before release.

Use diameter and speed data together
A groove count cannot tell you whether the pulley diameter is suitable for the required speed ratio or belt service. Add driver and driven speed and power or torque for a new drive.
Replacement RFQ
For a direct replacement, the fastest route is the existing code plus measured diameter, groove count, bore/bushing data and clear photographs.
